Bridging Plate Set
The Baby Lock Bridging Plates keep two pieces of fabric separated at an equal distance. This is most commonly used in Heirloom sewing with the technique of Bridging also known as Fagoting. This technique is where two fabric pieces are joined by threads over an open area.
The bridging plate set comes in two different sizes 2.5mm and 5 mm. To attach the plates, you simply remove the bobbin cover and snap the plate in.
Remember: Use the open-toe foot. The bridging plate is commonly used in heirloom sewing, to keep two pieces of fabric at equal distance so that it can be joined by thread with an opening in the middle.

KaRon’s Thoughts
Make it your own: Play around with your different stitches, change widths and lengths to customize your piece!!
Try This: Hemming with the Bridge plate. Choose a zigzag and decrease your size and width, so that you have a tiny zigzag. Take your pressed fabric with the hem folded under, use the bridging plate as a guide to keep a straight zig-zag, so that the stitch catches the edge. After stitching, turn fabric over trim excess.
KaRon’s FAVORITE Trimming Scissors…
Havel’s Small Double Curved Lace Trimming Scissors 4”. The short blades on these scissors cut easily and accurately. Rounded tips won’t poke or tear lace or fine fabrics. Unique angles keep hands out of way and allow for easy view of cutting area. Multi-angled is very similar to a double-curve.
